Chief Whip Refutes Allegations of Illegal Farmhouse Construction
Government Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy
Hyderabad: In response to opposition leaders' allegations that his farmhouse is located in an FTL and buffer zone, Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy strongly denied the claims.
Speaking to the media at the Secretariat media center here on on Friday, Mahender Reddy declared, “If my farmhouse is illegal, I will personally ensure it is demolished.”
He challenged his critics to provide evidence if they believe his farmhouse violates regulations. The Congress MLC clarified that the property, built 20 years ago, is not in a buffer zone or an FTL area, but falls under the ambit of the 111 GO, which is currently under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. “I have received no notices from authorities regarding any violations,” he added.
Mahender Reddy also pointed out that this was not the first time he addressed these allegations, yet the accusations persist.
He reiterated that anyone found guilty of constructing illegal buildings—whether it be himself or prominent BRS leaders like KT Rama Rao, Harish Rao or Sabitha Indra Reddy—should face demolition.
“I constructed the farmhouse with all the necessary approvals,” he asserted, dismissing the claims once again. He assured the public that if any official notices are issued deeming his farmhouse illegal, he would take immediate action to demolish it.
